April Fool’s Day

April Fool’s Day is a special day where people can play practical jokes and pranks on each other. It is a time when friends and family can come together to have some fun and laughter. The origins of April Fool’s date back to the 16th century, when people would play tricks on one another as part of the New Year celebrations. There are many different ways to celebrate this holiday. Some people like to pull harmless pranks like putting salt in their friend’s coffee or switching around dressing room signs at the mall. Others may take things a little further by staging elaborate hoaxes or involving unsuspecting victims in tricky schemes. No matter how you choose to celebrate, one thing is for sure – it’s always good for a laugh!
So why do we love playing April fool’s? There are actually several reasons why this lighthearted yearly ritual holds such appeal for so many individuals:

Merry Christmas 2023

The world is waiting for the Christmas event in 2023. During this wait, people would like to know many general and essential aspects related to Christmas and New Year’s Eve. That’s why we are going to provide very basic and essential knowledge about Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I hope, you will enjoy this post. Keep up reading Merry Christmas.
What is Christmas
Christmas festival is to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. The term Christmas is made of “mass on the day of Christ”) and it relates to recent language origin. Before, this festival was known as “Yule”. This term is considered to be taken from the Anglo-Saxon geōl or the Germanic jōl that mentioned the moment of the winter solstice (December 23) when the sun is at its most southern side. The equivalent terms for “Christmas” in different languages are Navidad (Spanish), Natale (Italian), Noël (French), and all terms most likely mean nativity.
The German term Weihnachten means “hallowed night.” From the start of the 20th century, this festival has also been celebrated as an irreligious family event, experienced by both Christians and other religious communities, lacking Christian religious elements, and known by a progressively more give-and-take of gifts.
In this non-religious festival, an imaginary personality named Santa Claus plays an essential role. This year, the date for the Christmas festival is Sunday, December 25, 2023.
Christmas Day
Since early times, Christian scholars have had different beliefs about the birthday of Jesus and the liturgical festival. One day for Jesus’ birthday is not decided quickly but it is the result of many regular developments. Specifically, since the first two 100s periods of Christianity, religious scholars had strong opposition to the birth date of Jesus.
Many Church Fathers marked sarcastic remarks about the ethnic practices of celebrating Jesus’ birthday when, actually, the group of martyrs and saints should be honored on the day of their holy execution—their right “birthday,” according to the church.
The exact origin of allocating 25 Dec. as Jesus’ birth date is not clear. Any authentication does not provide any clue by the way. 25 Dec. was first recognized as Jesus’ birth date in 221 by Sextus Julius Africanus and since then, it is accepted universally.
A well-known justification of the source of this birth date is that 25 Dec. was manifesting the spirit of Jesus Christ as the unconquered sun birth date and a well-celebrated event in Roman Empire. On this day, they celebrated the reappearance of the sun, known as the winter solstice, moving the winter out and the indication of the arrival of spring and then summer.
Definitely, after 25 Dec. became generally accepted as Jesus’ birthday, many Christian scholars often created the link between the birth of Jesus and the sun. The main problem with this opinion is that it shows a casual preference regarding the Christian churches to allow an ethnic event while the old churches were so determined on differentiating themselves definitely from ethnic practices and beliefs.
Another opinion shows that 25 Dec. became Jesus’ birth date due to theoretical reasons that recognized the spring (March) equinox as the world creation date and the fourth creation day, the time when the first light appeared, as Jesus’ beginning (i.e., March 25). The 25 Dec., after 9 months, was Jesus’ birthday. Since the old times, the festival of Jesus Christ’s birth was celebrated in combination with his sacrament, 6 Jan.
Christmas started to be commonly established with a particular Holy Sacrament in the 9th century but didn’t achieve the significance of Easter or Good Friday in accordance with liturgy, the other two main Christian festivals.
The first Christmas is celebrated at midnight by Roman Catholic churches, and the Christmas candlelight is arranged from the evening of 24 Dec. by Protestant churches. A particular practice of “lessons and religious songs” interlinks Christmas songs with Bible verses narrating the Birth history from the Garden of Eden to the birth of Christ.
This practice, inducted by E.W. Benson and held at the University of Cambridge, is widely well-known now.
New Years Eve
People worldwide have enjoyed the arrival of the new year for four spans of 1000 years. Currently, most New Year’s events start on 21 Dec. (New Year’s Eve), the last Gregorian calendar day and the celebration continues till the initial hours of 1st Jan. (New Year’s Day). General practices include holding parties, making unique dishes regarding New Year, making determinations for the new coming year and enjoying official fireworks practices.
In some regions of the world, New Year’s festivities start on the night of 31 Dec.—New Year’s Eve—and it continues till the initial hours of 1st Jan. People often have fun with great meals believed to say New Year’s good luck. In Spanish-speaking regions, people eat a large number of grapes, indicating their expectations for the New Year.
In some regions of the world, general New Year’s serving dishes include legumes that look alike coins and represent future economic success; for example, cowpeas in the south United States and lentils in Italy.
Since a pig represents progress and richness in certain cultures, pig meat is a special dish on New Year’s Eve in Hungary, Austria, Cuba, Portugal, etc. Ring-type cake and pastry represent a full circle of the New Year in Greece, Mexico, Netherlands, etc. Similarly, the rice pudding with almonds inside is offered on New Year; finding the nuts represents good fortune in New Year.
Other practices, which are very widespread all over the world are enjoying official and private fireworks and singing New Year songs-Auld Lang Syne-a very well-known song. The New Year’s resolutions are considered to follow the traditions of the ancient Babylonian, who promised to earn God’s favor and decided to start the coming year on the right path.

How Christmas is celebrated
On Christmas Eve, you can expect knocking at your door. In the United States, at your doorstep, there may be some people to sing and play Christmas songs. In Argentina, there may be your neighbours, friends, or relatives at the door-step to exchange sweet gifts and some fireworks.
In Newfoundland, possibly, there are your friends in different costumes performing comedy until you recognize who they’re.
Christmas, an annual festival that memorializes Jesus Christ’s birth, is welcomed in different ways in countries all over the world, even in regions with only a few Christian populations. The celebration of Christmas is a routine all over the world, for example, India has only a 3% Christian population, but still, there are fixed national holidays for Christmas.
There is just a 1% Christian population in Japan, but people in Santa costumes and Christmas musical activities are held in all shopping centres. In the United States, every person spends over $1,000 at Christmas.
The Christmas festival frequently includes local flairs according to local traditions. In Bethlehem, Jesus’ place of birth, Christians demonstrate birth scenes and signs of crosses. On Christmas, they come to churches to see an annual demonstration. In Syria, kids wait for presentations from the youngest male camels rather than Santa.
Italy has also a special jolly fat-man. Befana, the Italian magician, delivers presentations to good kids but captures trouble-makers. In all countries, Christmas dishes have the key importance in this event. In Ukraine, aspirational feasters eat 12 courses of the meal—one for each winner.
In Japan, people visit the KFC (fast-food center) to enjoy Christmas food. In Poland, carp is included in dinner kept in the bath-tub for the time before its presentation on plates. After that, generally, its scales are preserved for good luck all over the coming year.
